Background: This document was originally written for a customer after a VMware vSphere implementation. It's a little dated (Written in 2012 for VMWare ESXI 5), but many of the concepts still apply today. By design, it was written to provide some basic information about VMware vSphere in order to enable our customer to handle basic day to day tasks, but also know when it was necessary to engage us for support or other needs related to the VMware infrastructure. We have updated it and are now making it available to anyone that may find it useful.

Warning: VMware vSphere is a complex system, and it is easy to get in over your head. This is not intended to be an in-depth technical document. We recommend contacting us or a qualified VMware provider to avoid putting your systems at risk of data loss or production downtime.

We invite you to read through our white paper and then submit your own feedback so we may improve or clarify where necessary. When you are ready to plan your own VMware deployment, we'd invite you to talk to us about your specific environment and the challenges you may be facing. Just give us a call when you're ready.
