VMware vSphere

Physical-to-Virtual

There are lots of different options for how to get from physical servers to virtual servers. You might slowly build servers in the virtual environment, while retiring old physical servers. Or you might choose to do P2V migrations. P2V migrations are process of migrating an entire physical server and converting it to virtual. This is not a reinstall, but keeps the operating system and data intact. Some servers are good candidates for this, while others are not.
